Problem: Microsite’s can be tricky, and as my first pass, it was no simple task. I enjoy a good challenge, where you have multiple blockers, and solving a complex design problem. We were given a tight deadline, with very restrictive design parameters, (such as specific country restrictions, limited asset usage, and an ever evolving reward system for email sign ups). Also, did I mention that this would determine if we launch our product in the UK? So the stakes were high, but the problem was clear, create a brand specific microsite for the marketing of signing up with your email to receive 5 quid. (we had to receive a certain amount of emails/signups in order to legally launch in the UK).
Process: I made a breakdown of what we could use, our timeline, and what design elements were necessary. After collaborating with the international team, and long hours of design iterations and negotiating with team and stakeholder requirements, the microsite was approved.
Solution: The microsite was a full page branded solution to marketing for email/sign-ups for our launch in the UK, with a success message screen update once you enter. The success screen gives you confirmation, how to get more entries for product credit by sharing with friends, a bar indicator of how many people have used your link, and an FAQ for how it works in getting your credits for Dollar Shave Club product. With the microsite launching on time, we were successful in helping to bring our brand into the EU.
